Gregg Frederick Dalton passed away in his home on Friday, April 8th, 2022, from natural causes. He was 64 years old.

Gregg was born on May 9th, 1957, in Madison, Wisconsin. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he obtained both a Bachelor of Science degree and Master's degree in Sociology. Gregg worked in Human Resources for the Department of Health and Human Services for the State of Wisconsin.

An enthusiastic fan of football, Gregg loved attending Badger games, especially when attending with his children. Gregg enjoyed traveling to away games across the country, including multiple trips to the Rose Bowl and the 2015 National Championship game with his son. Gregg also loved the Green Bay Packers. He found happiness in bringing his young children to Green Bay annually for the Packers training camp where they collected autographs of their favorite players, including Brett Favre.

Gregg was also active in Lodi youth sports. He coached youth soccer teams in the Lodi-Sauk Prairie League, MAYSA and the Badger State Games.

Gregg had a love of music and was a proud member of the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps. He was a talented tenor drum musician who marched with the company from 1971-1978, which included winning Drum Corps International (DCI) in 1975. Gregg recently had enjoyed reconnecting with the Madison Scout community. MYNWA.

Gregg is survived by his three children, Dionne (Christopher) Martin, Christopher Dalton, and Elise (Jen) Dalton, and the mother of his children, Therese Cook-Dalton. He is also survived by three grandchildren that he adored, Oscar (6), Juniper (4), and Fletcher (6 months). Gregg was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Virginia Dalton, sisters, Debra and Jill Dalton, and the family dog, Prancer.

A memorial service will be held at Cress Funeral Service, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, Wisconsin, on Friday, April 22, 2022 at 11:00 am. A visitation before the service will begin at 10:00.

His children would love nothing more than to have a brick in his memory installed outside of Camp Randall and also outside of Lambeau Field for him. Should there be any additional memorial donations, a scholarship in his name will be created to support the financial need of a Madison Scout tenor.
