Madison- Gordon Lee Haack, 88, passed away on Friday, February 28th�2014, at Wisconsin Veterans home in King, WI. He was born on July 20, 1925 in Madison, the son of Lewis and Esther (Therkleson) Haack. He married Helen Karow on September 29, 1943 in Madison. Gordon served in the Army Signal Corps in China, Burma and India during WWII.
Gordon is survived by his daughter, Helaine Bobholz, grandchildren, Kathleen (Chris) Bobholz-Rewey, Karla O'Donohue, Eugene (Crystal) Bobholz, and Kirsten Bobholz; 9 great grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, a sister, Pauline (Jerry) Feisst; many nieces and nephews and his faithful companion, Lucy Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Helen, his brothers, Mel, Jim and Norm and his sister Elaine Mani.
Gordon was active with American Legion Post 481, 40 & 8 and VFW Post 7591. Gordon always said that all he needed was "one clean last white shirt". Now is the time for that shirt.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014 at Cress Funeral Home, 3325 East Washington Avenue at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Windsor Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
The family would like to thank the staff of Stordock Hall at The Wisconsin Veteran's Home in King for their wonderful care of Gordon.
