Gloria M. Risberg, age 97, of Madison, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2026. She was born on April 18, 1929, in Amery, Wisconsin to the late Orval and Ruby (Sylte) Gabriel. She attended Superior State College and upon graduation came to Madison to teach for 6 years.

On April 18, 1953, she married Dick K. Risberg. Two children were born to this union, Scott and Lori. She was blessed with 4 grandchildren, twins Elijah and Liam to Scott, and Sara and Luke to Lori and two great-granddaughters, Leona and Harriet.

Gloria was a long-time member of Midvale Lutheran Church and Daughters of the Nile, working for the Shriner Hospital for children. She enjoyed many volunteer jobs and playing bridge and euchre.

She and her husband spent many happy winters in Arizona. Dick preceded her in death on September 22, 2000.

Gloria will be dearly missed by her son, Scott, daughter Lori (Tom) Peters and grandchildren, Elijah and Liam Risberg, Sara (John) Snyder, and Luke (Claire) Peters, two great-granddaughters Leona and Harriet Peters, many extended relatives and friends.
