Gloria Jean Pumper, age 84, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, June 20, 2026 while visiting family in Michigan. Gloria was born September 30, 1941, the daughter of Chester and Lillian (Rebstock) Sellin in Milwaukee.

Gloria was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School and later went on to receive her BS from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in Elementary Education. Gloria was united in marriage to Dr. Fred John Pumper on June 17, 1967 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Beaver Dam. They had celebrated their 59th Wedding Anniversary just days before she passed from a cardiac event. She was employed as an Elementary School teacher until she and Fred started a family. When she had her first daughter she devoted her time to being a homemaker and raising her family with Fred. After their children were grown, Gloria returned to work as a substitute teacher. Gloria loved to travel and enjoyed camping with her family. Fred and Gloria were avid Wisconsin Badger fans and never missed watching Badger games on TV as well as attended several Bowl games. She was a vivacious reader and passed her love of books onto her family by gifting meaningful books to them over the years. Gloria was active in the Ledgers 4-H club in Fond du Lac where she served as a leader for 20 years. She had a deep faith and was a devoted member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Parish-St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Waunakee.

Gloria is survived by her husband of 59 years, Dr. Fred John Pumper, her brother, Ron (Kathy) Sellin of Marshall, WI, her children; Mary Ellen Pumper of Oshkosh, WI, Fred (Cathryn) Pumper of Northville, MI, James (Angela) Pumper of Indianapolis, IN, Ann (Michael) Comins of Waunakee, WI, Christine (David) Zellner of Middleton, WI, and Amy (Ryan) Sheahan of Waunakee, WI, and cherished grandchildren; Nicki Pumper, Ryan Pumper, Kaitlin Pumper, Amanda Comins, Matt Comins, Stephanie Comins, Andrew Zellner, Maddie Zellner, Jackson Sheahan, Nick Sheahan, and Reagan Sheahan.

A visitation will be held from 9:30 am until 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at St. Maximillian Kolbe Catholic Parish- St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 209 South St., Waunakee, WI 53597, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at the Church. Burial will take place at St. Wenceslaus Parish Cemetery, in Milladore, Wisconsin around 3:30 pm.
