In Loving Memory
Sun Prairie- Glenn Raymond Smail, age 63, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his cabin in his beloved north woods, on December 1, 2013. He was born October 15, 1950 in Madison, the son of Raymond J. and BJ (Roth) Smail.
Glenn married Joyce Ann Torrez on August 21, 1976 in Denver, Colorado. He retired after 28 years with American Family Insurance. Glenn was an Air Force veteran. He was an avid shooter and participated in the Badger State Games and Iron Man shooting competitions. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the Hope Rod and Gun Club, Stoughton Conservation Club and lifelong NRA member. He also was a longtime AMFAM Bowling League member. Glenn enjoyed traveling and just recently returned from Germany. However, his greatest joy was his grandchildren Rachel and Brandon. He was born to be a grandpa.
Glenn is survived by his wife of 37 years Joyce; daughters Robyn (Ben) Chase and Karen (Ryan)Granger; grandchildren Rachel and Brandon Chase; mother BJ Smail; sisters Evi (Tom) Hungerford, Jeanne (Craig) Pietsch and Pam(Ray) Przybelski and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Raymond.
Funeral services will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 550 Lincoln Drive, Sun Prairie on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m with Rev. Dr. David J. Berggren officiating. Visitation will be at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Thursday.
