MIDDLETON, WI - Gisela Maria Bloomenkranz, age 97, died at home on December 23, 2014.
She was born in Morogoro, Tanzania to Wilhelm and Maria Imm on January 4, 1917. Growing up in different countries around the globe, she became fluent in German, English, French and Spanish leading to a position as interpreter for Germany's leading newspaper, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. After marrying in 1956 she dedicated her life to providing endless love and support to her husband Sol, and raising their two sons and giving them an amazing start in their lives. She was the kindest, most gentle soul who was selflessly committed to making everybody's life a brighter experience.
Gisela was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Eva Schilla, and her brother Martin Imm.
She is survived by her husband Sol Bloomenkranz; sons Larry Bloomenkranz (Lisa) of Cleveland, OH, and Dick Bloomenkranz (Laura) of Middleton, WI; and grandchildren Martin, Miles, Bill and Tina. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law Ingeborg Imm of Munich, Germany and many nieces, nephews and their families.
Gathering will take place from 2:00-2:30 PM at the Cress Center, 6021 University Ave., Madison, WI 53705 on Sunday, July 5, 2015 with a memorial service to follow at 2:30 PM with Rev. Miranda Hassett officiating.
