Gertrude Hallett (Wrobel) of Madison, Wisconsin, passed away on January 22, 2026.

She was a born in Krakow, Wisconsin, to Felix and Anna (Jasiak) Wrobel.

Gert married Robert Hallett at St. Patrick’s Church in Green Bay, Wisconsin. They were married 66 years and one day before Bob’s passing in 2014. Gert was a homemaker, raising two daughters. She also volunteered at Our Lady Queen of Peace School, the Veteran’s Administration, and Red Cross, donating almost 40 gallons of blood to those in need. Gert especially loved taking photographs. She put together extensive photo albums throughout the years to keep memories alive. Her photos not only chronicled her life, but that of her parents, siblings, relatives, friends, marriage, vacations, children, and grandchildren. Looking through the many albums dating back to 1940’s, she mentioned “I sure took a lot of pictures.” It was a good thing she did.

Gert is survived by daughters Judy (Tim) and Joan (Paul); grandchildren, Bradley (Elizabeth and her daughter, Lily), Rebecca, and Brittany (Ben); great grandchildren, Ledger, Blake, Charlotte, and Jacob; brother, Larry (Brenda); and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased in death by her parents; her husband, Bob; and siblings and in-laws.

A visitation will be held at Cress Funeral and Cremation Service, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, WI 53715, on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
