Geraldine Randy

Madison - Geraldine Daitch Randy, age 87, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, October 3, 2015. Gerry was born in Madison to Etta and Herman Daitch on April 29, 1928. She met the love of her life, Warren Randy, in her freshman year at the UW. They were married for 64 years. Gerry was a generous, kind, and loving person. She treasured each member of her large extended family, thoughtfully remembering birthdays, anniversaries, graduations and other celebrations. She loved babies and children and they loved her back.

Gerry was the life of the party, always ready for fun and adventure. She loved music, dance, bridge, travel, and played a mean game of Texas Holdem. She loved to get together with her large group of friends. Gerry was involved in volunteer work, including Hadassah, UJA, and many other charities. She was involved in tutoring and helping families in need. Gerry was warm and inclusive, welcoming and befriending many. Gerry's family was the greatest joy in her life.

She is survived by her husband, Warren, her daughters, Claudia (Willie) and Linda (John) Eaves; granddaughters Andrea (Avi) Bernstein, Emily (Jeff) Stone, Alison Haus, and Samantha (Rom) DesJardins; and great grandchildren Jake, Sasha, Jackson and Rom, Jr. She is also survived by her sister, Anita Parks, brother in law Dr. Bill Merkow and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; and in-laws Meta, Drs. Paul and Susan Bernstein, and Janie Stone.

The family thanks the caring staff at Heartland Hospice for their wonderful care and support.

The funeral will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Road Madison. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Jewish Social Services; Jewish Federation of Madison; Beth Israel Center, and Hadassah.
