Geraldine Day

June 21, 1918 — September 25, 2015

MADISON- Geraldine Mary Day, age 97, of Madison, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2015, at the Ellen and Peter Johnson HospiceCare Residence.
She was born on June 21, 1918, in Bangor, Maine, the daughter of Marion and Samuel Desposito. Growing up, she was such a gifted acrobatic dancer that the local paper referred to her as "Geraldine Desposito, Child Wonder." For over twenty years she was a much-loved receptionist at the University of Maine on both the Orono and Bangor campuses, where she met her husband, Kenneth Day, marrying him in 1976. After retirement, she moved to Madison, WI, where her favorite pastimes became cheering on the New England Patriots and Green Bay Packers, fun-filled trips to Ho Chunk Casino, daily Mass on the EWTN Network, and watching Judge Judy. She was forever optimistic, always smiling, and greatly loved.
She is survived by her husband Kenneth, daughter Mary Holmes (Brian) of Madison, son Joseph (Joanne) of Bangor, grandchildren Eric Saindon, Michael Saindon, and Autumn Mayer, sister Carolyn West, nieces Jocelyn Taylor, Barbara Colley, and Christine Joyce, and five great-grandchildren.
