Gerald Muske

Sun Prairie/Madison - Gerald (Jerry) H. Muske, age 76, died unexpectedly on Sunday December 15, 2013. He was born on November 16, 1937 in Marquette County, the son of Harvey and Irene (Imm) Muske. In his younger years, Jerry loved hunting and fishing plus camping with his family. Jerry proudly served in the United States Airforce from August of 1955 to August of 1959. On May 20, 1960, Jerry was united in marriage to the love of his life, Dona Adler in Madison. They then moved to Alaska where he had worked for the University of Alaska in the Institute of Artic Biology, taking care of their hunting, trapping and research. They then moved to Madison, where he worked for the City of Madison for over 30 years, until his retirement.

After health problems stopped him from hunting and fishing. He began collecting Wisconsin hunting and fishing items. Jerry took great joy in this and became very knowledgeable about the items he collected and could be called upon to share this knowledge with many people.

Jerry was a good man; he loved his wife and children and will be sorely missed. In the past few years his real joy was summertime when he could take out his little red '66 Mustang convertible for a ride or go to a car show. This brought him a lot of happiness.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 53 years; Dona (Adler) Muske of Sun Prairie, 2 daughters; Marie (Ryan Reed) Fountain of Sun Prairie and Susan (Chris Baxter) Muske of Daytona Beach, FL, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and a sister, Shirley Parker of Racine, WI. He is also survived by many other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Lizzette.

Funeral services will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 10:00 am with Reverend Julie Krahn officiating. A visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from from 9:00 am until the time of services. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Town of Dakota Cemetery in Wautoma.
