Madison/Poynette - Gerald f. "Jerry" Killerlain, age 86 passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 with his loving family by his side. He was born on June 15, 1930 in Madison, Wisconsin, the son of Edward and Pearl (West) Killerlain.
As the years went on Jerry's nickname slowly changed to what many of you know him as "Killer". He proudly served six years in the United States Army and eight years for the National Guard. Jerry was a life time member of the Old Timer Camp McCoy. He was a life time member of the VFW Post #7591. He was also a member of the Red Arrow 32nd Division and the American Legion Post #534. Jerry will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jerry is survived by his seven children; Denny Killerlain, Steve Killerlain, JoEllen Lambert, David (Denise Searight) Killerlain, Teresa Leckwee, Tracy Killerlain and Todd (Sandy) Killerlain, 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, a daughter- in-law; Rhonda (Kevin Morton) Killerlain, a brother; Paul (Ginny) Killerlain, and a sister-in-law; Vivian Killerlain.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; Joann, daughter; Rhonda, son-in-law; Gary Leckwee, daughter-in law; Shawn Moriarity, five brothers; Leo, Dick, Pat, Phil, and Bernard, and five sisters; Lorriane, Jean, Lois, Mary and Kathryn.
Funeral services will be held at CRESS FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICE, 3325 E. Washington Ave., Madison, WI 53704 on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 11:00 am with Monsignor Charles Schluter presiding. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:00 am until the time of service. Graveside services with full military honors will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Cottage Grove.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Lori Simonson from Make-A-Wish, and the staff at Home Health United and St. Clare Hospital for all their loving care and compassion given to Gerald and our family.
