MADISON- Georgiann (Brejcha) Ganser, age 93, died on June 16, 2014 at Attic Angel Place. She was born February 21, 1921 in Chicago, Ill., daughter of Charles Brejcha and Anna Raiman. She attended Sacred Heart Academy in Lisle, Ill and Madison Business College. She worked in the Montgomery Ward credit department and as a secretary at Coan-Sletteland Co. before her marriage to Hugh Ganser May 17, 1941 at St. Rapheals Cathedral in Madison. She followed her husband to various Air Force Posts during the Second World War. After the war, they established their home in Madison. She became known to her growing family and friends as a wonderful hostess and homemaker. She enriched everyone's life that was fortunate enough to know her. She enjoyed most of all throughout her life being a mother, playing bridge, bowling, backing, dancing (especially square dancing) and travel. She was a member of St. Patricks Church, Lodi, Madison Catholic Women's Club and was a charter member of The Wisconsin Friendship Force. She and her husband traveled throughout the United States and many foreign countries.
She is survived by her husband Hugh and eight children; Allen (Connie) of Boston, MA, Gene of Costa Rica, Dennis (Cheryl) of Hartford, WI., Madelyn Ganser of Albuquerque, NM, Kathleen Shea of New Berlin, WI, Neal (Jean) of Bozeman, MT, Duane of Kansas City, MO, Dale (Marie) of Sauk City, WI; twenty-five grandchildren and twenty-nine great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Ann (Joseph) Andracchio and Mary Dolores (Clarence) Ricke. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Anna (Raiman) Brejcha and her step mother Amelea Safranek. Hugh and Georgiann celebrated their seventy-third wedding anniversary.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 401 S. Owen Dr., Madison, on Friday, June 20, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. with Msgr. Kenneth J. Fiedler presiding. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. A visitation will be held at church on Friday from noon until the time of the mass.
