Georgia Kast

Madison - Georgia Mae (Yelk) Kast passed away peacefully Thursday, May 23, 2013. She was born on October 4, 1949 to Lawrence and Lyla (Remus) Yelk of Sun Prairie. Mom was raised on the family farm surrounded by 3 loving brothers and a sister. She graduated from Sun Prairie High School in 1967.

On October 6, 1967 she married the love of her life Larry Kast in The Little Brown Church in Iowa. They were married for 27 years until the time of his death. They had three children Brenda, Howie, and Tony. They farmed the Deerfield/Cottage Grove Area their whole lives.

Mom was also a Certified Nursing Assistant taking care of many people throughout the county. She was a proud American Country Lady who enjoyed a good Friday night fish fry and conversations. And on the weekend a nice drive to a horse show or to visit friends.

Georgia is survived by her daughter Brenda (Jason) Aslin and son Howie Kast and fianc�e' Julia DuBois. Grandchildren Jordan (Emily) Hale, Christopher Hale, Shanna Hale, Cheyenne Hale, and Dalton Kast. Great grandsons Adam and Joseph Hale and great granddaughter Ziva Hale. A sister Shirley (Jim) Buckmaster and a brother Wayne (Marilyn) Yelk. Also sisters-in-laws Delores Maybee, Lorraine (Harold) Febock, and Linda (Jim) Howe and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Larry, son Tony, and her parents.

A memorial service will be held at the Sun Prairie City Hall, 300 E. Main St., Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 1st to be followed by a pot-luck.
