He then studied at UW River Falls, UW Stevens Point, and UW Eau Claire.

On February 19th, 1966, he married his high school sweetheart, Donna Nelson. They owned & operated the Oxford Convalescent Home in Oxford until it sold in 1979. Skitch’s #1 focus in life before and after retirement was his family!  He was a great husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was always there for his 3 special sons, and 6 awesome grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. His family could always count on him to be in attendance at sporting events, theatre events, music recitals, or anything else that he was able to support them in.  Skitch, a friend recently noted, “You have left a mark and you should be very proud of it—your legacy. ”- Jeff Knatz
