Madison - George Peter Testolin, age 97, slipped away silently on July 14th, 2014. He was the youngest child born to Antonio and Beatrice (Casetta) Testolin on October 9th, 1916 in Marblehad, WI.
George served 30 years in the military, retiring with his family in Madison, WI in 1972. During his career he received several awards and commendations for his excellence in service. He fought in 3 wars; WW2, the Korean Conflict, and Vietnam. It was during his tour in England that George met the love of his life, Rafaella Margarita Falco. Upon seeing her for the first time, George proclaimed to his best friend, "This is the woman I am going to marry." They were married in London on September 16th, 1957, and his love for her lasted until he took his last breath.
George's greatest gift was his ability to create beautiful hand crafted cakes, from his wedding cake to hundreds of others, including a cake commissioned for the 10th Anniversary of NATO's Armed Services in Europe.
George is survived by his loving wife, Ella, daughter Dorene Shuda, sons Antonio, Frank, and Dino, grandchildren Mike, Shellie, Sue, Jim, Adreana, Mario, and Frankie, 10 great-grandchildren, dear sister Armenia, and niece Delores. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Uralia, son-in-law Al Shuda, sister Uralia and nephew Andrew.
Friends may call at The Cress Center (6021 University Ave, Madison, WI 53705) on Friday, July 18th from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
