Geoffrey Wallace

June 21, 1970 — July 16, 2022

Madison

Madison - Geoffrey was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He began his schooling at Highland Community School and later went to MacDowell Montessori for Elementary School. He later went on to attend Rufus King/Morse Middle School, and he graduated from Riverside University High School in 1988.  Geoffrey attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and earned his Bachelor's degree in Economics. He went on to attend graduate school and obtained his PhD. in Economics from Northwestern University. He then enrolled in the Post Doctoral program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Later, he joined the faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he earned full tenured professorship of Public Affairs at the Lafollette School of Public Affairs.

Geoffrey was a devoted husband, father, son, and brother who would do anything for his family. He loved watching soccer matches with his sons and was recently introduced to the world of Anime by his older son Ethan.  Anyone who knew Geoffrey knew his love of food which earned him the name of "eat em up" by his granddaddy.  Geoffrey also had the gift of gab and could strike up a conversation with anybody, anywhere. Sometimes to the chagrin of his wife and kids who just wanted to get in and out of the grocery store quickly. Geoffrey was forever an optimist, and someone once told him that he "sees rainbows around every corner."

Geoffrey loved playing soccer and could be found on the pitch with his team, the Husky Lads. He also played golf in the Middleton golf league and enjoyed cycling around Dane County.

A few weeks before his passing, Geoffrey and his family traveled to Greece to celebrate his father's 80th birthday in Crete; a trip that was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Geoffrey had many friends near and far. He will be deeply missed by so many people.

He is survived by his wife Cynthia, sons, Ethan and Ezra, his parents, Don Wallace and Mary Pat Rose, his brother, Simeon Wallace, and 11 nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to Millennium Soccer Club of Madison or Neighborhood House of Milwaukee.
