Genevieve (Fladen) Taylor, age 92, passed away Thursday, November 15th in Madison.
She was born in Dodgeville , WI on January 26, 1920 to Ole and Gena (Hendrickson) Narveson. She graduated from East High School in 1937 and post graduate school in 1938.
Genevieve married Christian Fladen on July 23, 1938 and raised 3 sons. They were married for 29 years when Christian passed away in 1967. On February 12, 1972 Genevieve married Jack Taylor. They were married for 17 years when Jack passed away in 1989.
She worked for over 23 years at WI Employees Trust Fund and volunteered at House of Thrift for many years. Genevieve was an active member at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Madison. She loved to travel and dance. In her later years she took up bowling. She had a passion for collecting things, especially collector plates. She loved to read and always kept up with current events.
She is survived by her sons James Fladen of Madison, and Gene (Kathy) Fladen of Aurora CO., grandchildren Lisa Marie of Aurora, CO., and Christiana Lynn (Terrence Robinson) of Aurora CO., great grandchildren Marsellus, Ty and Tristan Robinson; step daughter Catherine, 3 step grandchildren Laura, Philip and Shannon and foster grandson Pervis Phillips
Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents, son Gerald, 8 siblings and step daughter Janet
Services will be held Monday November 19th at 1:00 pm at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 2670 Milwaukee St., Madison with a public visitation starting at 12 noon.
The family would like to thank the staff at Agrace HospiceCare Inc. and Oakwood Meadows for their wonderful care given to Genevieve.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, United Way or Agrace HospiceCare
