Genevieve Hahn

Sun Prairie-Genevieve Ann (Thannum) Hahn, age 80, passed away of cancer on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at the Sun Prairie Health Care Center.

She was born September 5, 1932 in Hayward, Wisconsin the daughter of Ernest & Christine (Larsen) Thannum. She attended UW-River Falls obtaining a 3-year teaching degree.
She married Howard H. Hahn in 1955 in Hayward, WI. They eventually moved to Sun Prairie where she raised her three sons.
After raising her sons, she graduated from UW-Whitewater in library science and then went to work for the Wisconsin State Libraries. She retired in 1996.

She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. She loved nature, her garden, reading and attending functions at the Sun Prairie Colonial Club.

She is survived by her 3 sons, Dennis (Karen) of Wichita, KS, Douglas (Erin) Hahn of Stevens Point and Curtis (Chris) Hahn of Milwaukee; 3 grandsons Jacob Hahn, Joey Hahn and Jeremy Hahn; and 2 granddaughters, Jennifer Hahn and Megan Hahn; her 2 sisters Eris Miles of Hayward and Lorraine Olson of Oshkosh. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, William Thannum; a sister in-law, Laverne Schroeder; a brother in-law, Ray Miles.

The family is grateful to her wonderful neighbors and friends for helping her through her death.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 550 Lincoln Drive, Sun Prairie, with Rev Dr. David J. Berggren officiating. A time of gathering will be held on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A light lunch will follow the service at the church.
