Genevieve Czyscon

Genevieve Therese Lechowski Czyscon, passed away at 11:25 p.m. on Saturday, January 22, 2011 with a nearly full moon shining on her at her home at Hebron Oaks at Oakwood Village West in Madison. She lived there since February 2006. Prior to that she lived 8 years in the Independent Living Apartments at Oakwood and 10 years in Elk River, MN. She was born September 10, 1922 to Jacob and Mary (Beres) Lechowski in Chicago. Genevieve was united in marriage to Stanley Czyscon, and he preceded her in death in 1971.She was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Madison. She was a dear wife and mom, volunteer for the mother's club, USO, Democratic Party, her faith communities, and the Polish Heritage Club. We will remember you always, loving Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, Sister, Cousin, Aunt and Friend. Genevieve is survived by her three children, Janice (Crystal Hyslop) Czyscon, Lawrence (Joanne) Czyscon and Michael Czyscon; her two sisters, Anne Lechowski and Florence Jayko; her grandchildren, Joseph (Hennika) Czyscon, Lori (Thomas) Dorrel, Christopher (Kate) Czyscon, John Czyscon, Jonathan Czyscon, Beth Czyscon, Carmen (Troy) Baumann and Miranda Hyslop-Garza; and her great-grandchildren, Hannah, Sarah, and Micah Dorrel, and Sonny, Novi and Cedar Czyscon. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a brother, Edward Lechowski; and sister, Betty Lechowski. Services will be held in Chicago. In lieu of flowers please direct memorial gifts to the Oakwood Foundation, 6201 Mineral Point Road, Madison, WI 53705. Please designate the Continuing Care Fund or Nursing Scholarships as recipients of your gifts. Jean's family extends deepest gratitude to all of the staff serving Hebron Oaks who cared for Jean with kindness and love. Her family too was blessed by the kindness and generous support the staff provided them.  A note of thanks to Hospice for caring for her last week.
