Geah L. Marshall, 77, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026.
Born December 14, 1948, Geah lived a life defined by resilience, strength, and deep devotion to her family. She overcame significant adversity with quiet determination.
As a single mother, she ran an in-home daycare for many years while raising her two daughters. She later worked in manufacturing quality at Rock-Tenn and concluded her career proudly serving her community with the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.
Family was at the heart of Geah’s life. She cherished time together, trips to local casinos, and meals at favorite restaurants. She never forgot a holiday, birthday, or special milestone, always making sure those she loved felt remembered and celebrated.
Geah was proud of her Norwegian heritage, and her Lutheran faith remained an important source of strength and comfort throughout her life.
Geah is survived by her daughters, Sheilah (Steve) Holznagel and Tracy (Erik) Beyer; her grandchildren, Brittany Sherman, George Beyer, Benjamin Beyer, and Steve Holznagel Jr.; her brother, James (Brenda) Marshall; sisters-in-laws, Ardith Hanson and Peg Hanson; her longtime partner, Richard (Rick) Seitz; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Rebecca; her parents, Russell and Alice “Betty” Hanson, and Adeline and Earl Marshall; her brothers, Rodney Hanson, William Hanson and his wives, Margaret and Wanda Hanson, Donald Hanson, and Glen Joseph Marshall. Near the end of her life, Geah found comfort in knowing she would be reunited with those she loved and missed so deeply.
A funeral service will take place at 11AM on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Burke Lutheran Church. Visitation will take place from 9AM until the time of service.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of Charter Senior Living, where Geah had resided since October 2024 and was loved, for their compassion and care.
Geah’s legacy lives on in the love she gave so freely and the countless ways she made others feel special. Her steady presence and enduring care will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
