Gary Kohlmeyer

Waunakee - Gary G. Kohlmeyer, age 75, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, September 28, 2013 due to congestive heart failure. He was born November 19, 1937 in Milwaukee to Garnet and Jean (Clark) Kohlmeyer. Gary served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1956 to 1958. On December 6, 1958, he was united in marriage to Nancy Weldy. Gary retired from Oscar Meyer in 1994. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with his family. Gary was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. Gary is survived by his wife, Nancy; son, Dennis (Ruth) Kohlmeyer of Dane; daughters, Patricia (Tim) Ziegler of Waunakee, Shelly Ziegler of Madison and Colleen Cable of Waunakee; grandchildren, Lucas, Gabriel, Autumn, Matthew, Tiffany, Hillary, Travis and Amanda; great-grandchildren, Cody and Carmen; a brother, Larry (Joyce) Kohlmeyer of Avoca; sisters-in-law, Judy (Eugene) Cook of Waunakee, Beverly Wilson of Janesville and Elaine Kohlmeyer of Muscoda; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles and Jack; and a sister, Judy. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Winn-Cress Funeral Home, 5785 Highway Q, Waunakee. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. A private family burial service will take place on Thursday at Avoca Cemetery.
