Gail Rae Johnson

Gail Rae Johnson (nee Ehret), of Madison, formerly of Brookfield, found true peace on Feb. 17, 2019, at the age of 84. Beloved wife of Dennis. Loving Mother of Dean (Karen), Jeffrey (Norma) Johnson and Holly (Russell) Van Gilder. Proud Grandma of Kerry, Drew, Nicholas, Chloe, Ryan and Hayden.

Gail was born and raised in Chicago, IL and graduated from Jones Commercial HS in Chicago IL. She pursued a brief career in secretarial/administrative assistance. Gail's passions were supporting Dennis in his career endeavors, supporting her family as a homemaker/gourmet cook, supporting her church as a Sunday School Supervisor and many other church and community volunteer positions. She enjoyed many activities through the years with Dennis and her friends such as golfing, gardening, traveling and playing bridge. While enjoying life at Capitol Lakes Retirement Community, she enjoyed time with friends and participated in groups for knitting, coloring, bible study, and helping with the interaction and transportation of assisted living residents to special events. She will be remembered for her tenacity of spirit, her smile and her loving kindness that had no end.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 16, 2019, in the Grand Hall at Capitol Lakes, 333 W. Main St., Madison, WI 53703. Visitation will be held from 12 pm (noon) until the time of services at 2 PM. A reception with food and refreshments will follow at Capitol Lakes. Parking (ticket validation upon departure at front desk opposite Grand Hall) in ramp across from Main St. entrance, or Parking in ramp (pay) on corner of Main St. & Henry St.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Gail's memory may be made to the Community United Methodist Church in Elm Grove, Asbury Church in Madison or Agrace Hospice Care in Madison, WI.
