Frederick Terpening

Frederick LeRoy Terpening, age 79, of Waunakee passed away Aug. 18, 2015. He was born on Aug. 22, 1935. in Alton IL, a son of Jesse Turner Terpening and Helen Marie (Buckley) Terpening. Fred served in the US Air Force at Truax Field, Travis and Scott Air Force Bases and in Weisbaden, Germany from 1955 - 1963. He retired from Oscar Mayer after more than 30 years of service. In his younger days, he was an avid bowler, hunter, fisherman, camper, and card player.

Fred is survived by his children, Mark (Amy) Terpening of Waunakee, Tom Terpening of New York City, and Kay (Dennis) Moore of Barneveld. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ben, Kaitlyn, Hannah Terpening and Riley and Karley Moore. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Hilda Borreson and Helen Douglas; and brothers, Robert and Kenneth Terpening.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Winn - Cress Funeral Home, 5785 County Road Q, Waunakee. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. A private burial will be held at a later date.
