Frederick Loshaw

October 3, 1944 — June 5, 2012

Frederick Loshaw lost his courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at the age of 67. Fred was born in Port Huron, MI on October 3, 1944 to George and Madeline Loshaw and married the love of his life Julie Sayer in November of 1963. They raised their four devoted children in Flint, MI.

He and Julie moved to Stoughton, WI in 1995 where they opened Fast Freddy's Pizza. In 2004 they moved to Belleville and he started Fred's Light Hauling where he built up a clientele that appreciated his tireless work ethic and gregarious nature. He was an avid deer hunter and golfer and enjoyed the friendship of owners and fellow golfers at Argue-Ment Golf Course in New Glarus. He also loved finding 'treasures' in what others threw away, even making his way to the Antique Roadshow when they visited Madison. Fred truly never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone needing a hand.

Surviving are his wife of nearly 49 years, Julie Loshaw, daughter Wendi Hull (Steve), son Chris Loshaw (Carolyn), and daughter Kerrin Kostelic (Joe). He also enjoyed the laughter and love of his grandchildren Stephanie Hull and Elizabeth (Hull) Quinn; Alexandria Carr; and Matthew, Carson, and Lukas Loshaw. Fred had the privilege of a very large family consisting of 10 brothers and 7 sisters, close friends Don Gromli, Sam Bonilla, and Joao Frasier, and the devotion of his dog "Button". Fred was preceded in death by his eldest daughter Lori Loshaw (Carr) in 2000.

The family would like to express their deep gratitude to Dr. Anne Traynor at UW Carbone Cancer Center & oncology staff, Dr. Douglas Kutz, and Agrace HospiceCare for their quality care and support.

A memorial and Celebration of Fred's life will take place at Cress Funeral Home, 3325 East Washington Ave. in Madison, WI on Friday, June 8, 2012 at 12:00 PM Noon with a spaghetti dinner in his honor immediately following. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM.
