Frederick Brumm

FITCHBURG- Frederick "Fred" J. Brumm, age 81, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017. He was born and raised in the Middleton area to Forrest and Margaret (Nelson) Brumm. He moved to Crestwood in the late 1940's where attended Crestwood and was a graduate of Madison West High School, Class of 1953. He went on to serve our country as a member of the US Marine Reserves. Fred dedicated over 35 years to Wisconsin Power and Light (now Alliant Energy). He was also a landlord for over 44 years, and he took much pride in the upkeep of his properties.

Fred was very fond of skiing, and he became a member of Skilaufers group in the late 1960's. In addition to his love for skiing, Fred also was a proud member of the TNR&CS where he was able to share his enthusiasm for motorcycle riding. Fred was an avid Packer fan, and he loved the opportunities to watch any of the Badger sports. He and Diane spent many years traveling including the western United States, Europe, and annual trips to Canada.

Fred is survived by his friend Diane, her family, and many other cousins, relatives, and dear friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Robert.

Visitation will be from 12-2:00 PM on Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Cress Center, 6021 University Ave., Madison, WI 53705 with a service to follow at 2:00 PM. Friends and family will meet at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the Sunset Memory Garden chapel to bring Fred to his final place of rest.
