Fred Schumann

STOUGHTON - Fred Schumann, of Stoughton, age 94, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2017, at his home. Fred was born on Feb. 6, 1923, in Stoughton, the son of Fred Sr. and Geda (Kalhagen) Schumann. He married Dorothy Thompson on Sept. 9, 1950.

Fred enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors. He worked at Sun Prairie Concrete Inc. as a truck driver as well as at Castle and Doyle and International Harvester. He was a hardworking man.

Fred is survived by his wife, Dorothy; son, David (Becky) Schumann; daughter, Diane (Bruce) Knoble; grandchildren, Tami Sornson (Christopher Nolley), Craig Sornson, Teena (Mitch) Nelson, Lesly (Dennis) Anderson, and Jack (Braeshley) Schumann; and many great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dennis Schumann; sister, Wilma Stoskopf; brother-in-law, Roger Stoskopf; and grandson, Nick Sornson.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, April 29, 2017, at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 5801 Highway 51, McFarland. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday. Fred will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Park in Monona.
