Freddie Mosley, III was born on August 14, 1954 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the Late Pastor Freddie Mosley, Jr and Ora D. Clayton Mosley. The third of six children, his love of music was present throughout his life.

He attended Jefferson Davis Elementary and Abramson High School in New Orleans, Louisiana. He earned an Associates Degree from Parkland College in Champaign Illinois.

He played Trumpet and Flugel Horn in his school’s music department and trumpet/valve trombone in his teen years. All with a goal in mind. At 12 years of age, he couldn’t wait to go to the French Quarters and perform at local clubs.

After each gig, he would return home and give his mother his pay to help with the family expenses. His father passed away when he was seven years old and he felt the responsibility as the oldest son. His mother had also impressed upon him the importance of education. His desire to excel in both was evident. As his performances continued, he adapted to every musical need. He played guitar when the band needed a guitarist; keys when they needed a keyboardist; even drummer to make sure the show happened. One highlight was when Fred’s band opened for James Brown in 1982. Fred composed, recorded and performed Jazz, Funk, Rhythm & Blues, Rock and down home Blues for 63 of his 70 short years of life. His moral teachings and musical foundation are deeply rooted in the Church Of God In Christ.

In October 1972, he served honorably in the United States Navy until the end of his Tour of Duty.

Music also led him to his partner of 40 years, Tracy Hill-Mosley. They met as members of an R & B band in 1985. Fred was the ultimate “idea man” and Tracy his catalyst. Together they formed Hill Mosley Music Productions, Personalized Care, Incorporated, Mosley’s Move It Corporation and H M Express Delivery. Always self-employed entrepreneurs, they purchased land in 1991 and built their dream home.

Their union was blessed with four children. Chantal Andrea, Kristin Ashley, Alise Antoinette, and Freddie Anthony Mosley IV. There are also two cherished grandchildren: Rain Michelle and Ares Miguel Delgado Mosley.

In those forty years, there were many performances, with countless bands, and thousands of original music compositions. His family and music collaborators will continue to catalog and master Fred’s life work in hope that many more can listen, reflect and enjoy.

Freddie Mosley was preceded in death by parents, Pastor Freddie Mosley, Jr and Evangelist Missionary Ora D. Clayton Mosley and sister Betty Hollins.

He leaves to cherish his memory: Wife, Tracy Hill-Mosley, Three daughters: Chantal A. Mosley, Kristin A.(Victor) Delgado Mosley (Sun Prairie, Wi), Alise A. (Davud) Mosley Porter (Fitchburg,Wi) and Freddie A. Mosley IV. His siblings: sisters Brenda Scobey. Valerie (Sandy) Tate, Ora Clay and Brother: Bishop Arthur F. (Sheila) Mosley. Two Grandchildren: Rain Michelle and Ares Miguel Delgado Mosley. Brothers-in-law: Roy C. Hill II, Michael Ashford Gordon and Sister-in-law: Myrna Grant. One Aunt: Dorthy Dabney and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
