Frank Pavelec

Waunakee-Frank Louis Pavelec, age 87, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017, in Waunakee. He was born Jan. 4, 1930 in Grand Marsh, WI to the late John and Bessie Pavelec. On June 21, 1958, Frank married Goldie M. Dopp in Superior. Together they celebrated 58 years of marriage. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was very proud of his service. He graduated from U.W. Madison with a Bachelor's Degree in Food Science and Industry. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, American Legion Post #360 Chaplain, VFW Post #11244 Chaplain, the Korean War Vets Assoc. #145, and was a lifetime member of the Wisconsin Alumni Association. Frank enjoyed reading, walking, and listening to polka music.

Fran is survived by his wife, Goldie Pavelec; his children, Frank Pavelec, Diane (John) Dennis, and Robert (JoAnne) Pavelec; siblings, Otto (Irene) Pavelec, Milada Prin, Sylvia Breene, Adolf Pavelec, John (Joyce) Pavelec, Joseph (Nyla) Pavelec, and Kathy (Ralph) Weber; grandchildren, Josh, Dustin, Jamie, Lucas, Nicholas, Sarah, Jessica, Christopher, and Daniel; godchildren, Alan and Cynthia; special friend, Hyeon-Seck (Tom); and other relatives and friends.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; his granddaughter, Rebecca; his brother, Charles Pavelec; sisters-in-law, Betty and Florence; and brothers-in-law, Sid Palm and John Breene.

Family and friends may visit at Peace Lutheran church, 701 S. Century Ave, Waunakee, on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. with Pastor Doug Locken presiding. Military Honors by American Legion Post 360 will follow the service.
Memorials may be given to Badger Honor Flight, Agrace HospiceCare, or Peace Lutheran Church.
