Frances Ryan

MADISON - Frances Marie Ryan, age 88, passed away on Wednesday December 10, 2014 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. She was born May 31, 1926 in Kansas City, MO., to the late Gordon and Mable Hicks. She married William Ryan on October 24, 1948. Frances and Bill left Kansas City in 1957 to start their own business in Madison.
Frances is a member of the Monona Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. She worked for many years at State Medical Society of Wisconsin/WPS before the 20 years she worked at Overhead Door Company of Madison. Frances enjoyed shopping, eating out and spending time with her grandchildren and great granddaughter.
Frances is survived by her son Ron (Teri) Ryan, her grandchildren; Courtney (John) Gradel, Kelly Ryan and Jeff Ryan, great granddaughter Evan Gradel, sister-in-law Nona Hicks, and is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives, along with special dear friends Donna Blaskowski and Brenda Myers.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband William "Bill" Ryan, brothers; Bob (Lois) Hicks, John Hicks, sisters; Betty (Seldon) Smith, Mable (Elwood) Gaines and Lola Butler.
The family wishes to thank Dr. David L. Hei for his care to Frances, and also to Agrace HospiceCare.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday December 14, 2014 at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road with Todd Boetzel presiding. Burial will be at a later date in Forest Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
