Frances Richardson

Frances E. Richardson, age 100, passed away peacefully at Agrace HospiceCare on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Castle Rock on April 5, 1913 to Charles and Ellen (Thompson) Johnsrud.

Frances attended teacher training in Fennimore. In 1937, she was united in marriage to Jack Richardson, and they moved to Madison. Jack preceded Frances in death in 1957, and she continued to live in the home they built. Frances went to work at JC Penneys after Jack died, and worked there for 18 years, until she retired. She loved to go on walks and care for her home. Frances' greatest joys were her grandchildren and her faith in God.

Frances is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Jack) Foerst; daughter-in-law, Wendie Richardson; grandchildren, Theresa Wright, Bryan (Kathi) Foerst, Stewart Richardson and Erin Richardson; and her great-grandchildren, Christina and Connor Wright. She was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Dean; and all her siblings.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at MT. OLIVE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 110 Whitney Way, Madison, with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
