Stoughton- Frances Ellen Myrland Hanson, age 87, passed away on Friday, June 29, 2012. She was born in Busseyville on March 19, 1925, the daughter of Roy and Gertrude M. (Kirby) Myrland. The family moved to Fulton in 1926 and in 1932 they moved to a farm near Evansville. In 1947 Frances married Harry G. Hanson and in 1950 they bought a farm near Stoughton. They were blessed with two sons, Gregg and Gary. After her husband developed some health issues they sold their farm in 1972 and moved to Stoughton. Frances worked at a food manufacturing factory for three years and then at Stoughton Hospital for over 13 years. Frances was a member of the Stoughton United Methodist Church, Stoughton Hospital Auxiliary, and the Friendship Circle at her church. She enjoyed traveling with Harry on various trips throughout the country. Frances is survived by her two sons, Gregg Hanson of Westby and Gary (Karen) Hanson of Oregon; grandchildren, Rebecca and Michael; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry; her brother, Lawrence (Anita) Myrland; niece, Laurie Hardy; and her daughter-in-law, Jacquie. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at United Methodist Church of Stoughton, 525 Lincoln Avenue, with Rev. Dr. Dawn Jeffers Ramstad officiating. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon immediately following the services in the church fellowship hall. Burial will take place in Maple Hill Cemetery in Evansville. Friends may greet the family from 10:00 AM until the time of services on Tuesday at church.
