Florence Reagan

Florence Anna Reagan, age 98, of Madison, WI, died on April 12, 2013 at Heritage Court in Eau Claire, WI in the presence of her family.
Florence was born on January 3, 1915 on the Marty homestead farm in Mount Pleasant Township, Green County, WI, to Matthias and Fannie (Stauffer) Marty. She attended a one room country school until her high school years when she attended Monticello High School and graduated at the top of her class. She continued her education at a Madison, WI business school specializing in bookkeeping.
Florence used her bookkeeping skills at Bowman Dairy where she met her husband, William (Joe) Joseph Reagan. Florence and Joe married in 1957 in Madison and celebrated almost 47 years of marriage until Joe's death in 2004. Florence also worked at Production Credit Association from where she retired in 1980.
Florence was a model of courage and unconditional love. She was a breast cancer survivor for over 45 years. Her love was greatly felt by her son, John, daughter-in-law, Betsey, and three grandchildren, Mark (Annette), Matt, and Annie. Florence loved her farming heritage and had many fond memories of her 5 brothers (and their families), Albert, Edward, Herman, Wilbert, and Clarence who preceded her in death. She was the last survivor of her generation. Her great love of dogs continued in the generations that followed her.
The family is grateful for the care Florence received at Willow Pointe in Verona and Heritage Court in Eau Claire. She was blessed to have two special friends, Kelly Mahoney and Shannon Wall, who helped with her care while in Madison.
Memorials can be given to Hospice or the Eau Claire County Humane Society.
Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 404 East Main Street, Madison, with Msgr. Kevin D. Holmes presiding. Florence will be laid to rest next to her husband at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Madison. A visitation will be held 9:30 AM and until time of services Tuesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church.
