MADISON- Florence Clementi Blazek, age 97, of Madison passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born on October 31, 1918 in Madison, the daughter of John and Frances Clementi. She married John V. Blazek on August 17, 1948 in Greensfork, Indiana.
Florence grew up in the Greenbush. She attended high school through the 8th grade when she had to leave school to work and support her family. Flo worked at Forsberg Paper Box Company as well as Webcrafters. She enjoyed Italian cooking, Packers and Badgers football, basketball, and loved the game of bowling. Her proudest moment was being inducted into the Madison Women's Bowling Hall of Fame in 2001. Flo was proud to be the oldest member of the Italian American Women's Club. Flo enjoyed music, especially having the opportunity to meet Kenny Rogers at Ho-Chunk. Flo also enjoyed crocheting and playing cards, especially Euchre with family and friends.
She is survived by daughters, Jennie Lynn Larson (Larry) and Theresa Ann Burr (Greg); grandchildren Phillip Burr, Barbara Burr, and John Burr; the Larson blended family; sister Jennie Clementi; and many other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers, and 4 sisters.
A visitation will be held Monday, October 10, 2016 from 10am until 11AM at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, with a eulogy being read at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, Donations can be made to St. Mary's Care Center at 3401 Maple Grove Drive, Madison, WI 53719.
