Faye Wolter

Waunakee - Faye Aileen Wolter, age 73, passed away on Sunday April 28th at Meriter Hospital in Madison, WI where she worked in the Emergency Room from 1982 to 2000. She was surrounded by all three of her children at the time of her passing.
Faye was born to Ansel & Lorraine (Hoyer) Lehman of Hartford, WI on May 10th 1939. She graduated from Hartford High School in 1957 and went on to earn her degree from Columbia Hospital School of Nursing. She worked at Oscar Meyer in the Medical Department. In addition to working at Meriter hospital, Faye was a founding member of the Waunakee Area EMS volunteering as an EMT from 1979 to 1993. She also enjoyed teaching defensive driving at the Madison Area Technical College. Faye enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, laughing, taking photographs, being outdoors, reading and loved animals. She was quick-witted in life and took her ice cream seriously. Faye enjoyed taking day trips to Merrimac Ferry, Parfrey's Glen, and Olbrich Gardens. Professionally known for her passion in her nursing career and involvement with EMS, Faye once said, "Sometimes you can't make a difference in the outcome with a patient, but you can make a difference when you deal with the family. That's a really important part of me." Faye's family would like to especially thank all the nurses at the Belmont Manor and Meriter Hospital who cared for Faye as she fought to her final breath.

Faye is survived by her sons, Tim (Annette) Wolter of DeForest and Jonathan (Elena) Wolter of Phoenix, AZ; a daughter, Melissa Wolter, Pensacola FL; grandchildren, Corey Wolter (Tim & Annette), Mia and Axel Wolter (Jonathan & Elena); a brother, Mickey (Pam) Lehman; a sister-in-law, Mary Lehman; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Kermit Lehman.

A funeral service will be held at WINN-CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 5785 Hwy Q., Waunakee, on Friday, May 3, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service.
