Eyasu Ermecho Edward Cranley, Age 16, passed away April 13, 2026. Eyasu Ermecho Edward Cranley was a beautiful person inside and out. He had a tender soul, with abundant love for family and friends. He will be remembered forever by those who knew him for his many gifts, in particular his innate ability to make others laugh with his charm, physical antics and clever sense of humor. Beneath the humor was Eyasu’s gift of empathy; he had a kind and generous heart. He was a great listener to friends in need of a sympathetic ear and encouraged others when he saw they lacked confidence.

Eyasu loved his family and friends. But he also loved video games, horror movies, Anime, fast food, fishing, and hanging out with friends at the mall or on hours-long video chats, and he found solace in Harry Potter audio books (1,2 and 4!), Stephen King’s It and Adam Sandler movies. Eyasu was a beautiful mix of humor and heart. We will love and miss him forever.

He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth, sister, Fiona and Ethiopian mother, Almaz Ermecho, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edward and Mecca Cranley and his Aunt, Anne Cranley Higgins.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 20 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 401 South Owen Drive, from 10 -11 am. Mass of Christian Burial will at 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Eyasu’s memory to Roots Ethiopia. Every gift goes directly to education and women’s empowerment programs in rural Ethiopia.
