Evelyn Jo Oien

Evelyn Jo Oien passed away and received her wings on Thursday, March 14, 2024.  She was born on December 16, 1967 in Madison, Wisconsin to Harry and Linda Schrader.  

Evelyn received her education from Sun Prairie High School.  She went on to receive her Cosmetology Degree from Madison Area Technical College.  

Evelyn worked many years at Cost Cutters.  She later worked at Simple Cuts.  Evelyn also owned and operated her own salon called Liberty Square Hair.

Evelyn is survived by her loving mother Linda; two daughters Jenifer (spouse?) Burden and Brenda (spouse?) Oien; her brother Kenny Schrader; two sisters Marsha (spouse?) Swanson and Janice (spouse?) Schrader; and her five grandchildren: Izayah, Addison, Alexandria, Rochelle, and Ryland.  She is further survived by her Goddaughter Candy; three friends she considered her sisters: Renita Hymon, Tina Carpenter, and Cynthia Dorenzo; and a host of family and friends.  Evelyn had also countless “children” and “grandchildren” she affectionately called her own.  Her father Harry Schrader and her brother Terry Schrader preceded her in death.

A visitation will be from 1-3:00 PM on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, WI 53590 with a time of sharing to begin at 3:00 PM.  A celebration of life will be held at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 2109 Bartillon Dr, Madison, WI 53704 following services at the funeral home.
