Evelyn Gjertson

Stoughton - Evelyn A. Gjertson, age 74, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, June 13, 2017. She was born on June 29, 1942, daughter of Clarence and Martha (Amble) Gjertson. She was born in Stoughton and lived in the Stoughton / Utica area her entire life.

Evelyn enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her children Joe Vesterdahl, Jeanne (Paul) Hole, Jodi Logan, Jeff (Lorie) Vesterdahl, Corey Edgington, Jerry (Cheryl) Edgington and Jim (Amie) Edgington; fifteen grandchildren, Suzann, Garry, Tracy, Tiffany, Melissa, Billy, Andy, Katie, Kortney, Amanda, Brian, Ben, Josh, Jimmy, and Bella. Seven (soon to be eight) Great-Grandchildren, Hunter, Madison, Hayden, Makayla, Andrew, Duane, and Aria. She is also survived by her brother Marvin Gjertson and many nieces and nephews, as well as her special friends at Greenspire.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Corinne; brother, Tom; granddaughter Elizabeth; and fathers of her children, Duane and Paul.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Cress Funeral Service, 206 W. Prospect St., Stoughton, WI 53589. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday. She will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon at the Stoughton American Legion Post 59.
