Evan John Fahl, age 38, passed away unexpectedly on November 19, 2025. He was born on June 12, 1987, in Madison, Wisconsin, to William Fahl and Nancy Fahl.
Evan grew up in Madison and graduated from Memorial High School before attending Madison College. In 2008, he began what would become a long and dedicated career as a commercial roofer. Evan took immense pride in his work and found a second family among his crews—especially the GBR team and the Schranz boys, whom he cared for deeply.
On August 13, 2022, Evan married the love of his life, Katie, and together they built a warm and joyful home filled with laughter, projects, and the kind of everyday moments he cherished most. Their dog Meatball and tortoise Herbie were constant companions who brought him endless happiness.
Evan had a passion for hands-on living. He loved fishing, paintball, and volleyball, and could often be found tinkering in his workshop or proudly expanding his ever-growing collection of Milwaukee tools. His happiest days were spent on trips to Boulder Junction, surrounded by nature and the people he loved.
What made Evan truly extraordinary was his kindness, warmth, and his willingness to help anyone who needed it. He had a gentle soul, an unforgettable smile, and a gift for making others feel seen, supported, and cared for. He was one of a kind, and his absence leaves an immeasurable void.
Evan is survived by his wife, Katie; beloved pets Meatball and Herbie; father William Fahl; mother Nancy Fahl; brothers Bryan and Erik Fahl; and in-laws Margy, Nick, and Sami Hellenbrand, as well as Alex, Becky, Remy, and Scottie Syse. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 25, from 3:00–6:00 PM at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, WI. All who knew and loved Evan are welcome to attend.
A gentle note: Evan’s passing was unexpected. If you or someone you love is struggling, please know that help is always available and you are never alone. Reaching out can make all the difference—your life matters deeply.
