Eva Middleton

Eva Mae Middleton, age 93, left this life on August 29, 2017, to join Harry (Buzz), her beloved husband of 48 years. She was born in Dane to David Madigan & Eva Clemens Madigan on May 29, 1924. Eva & Buzz were married in 1945, began farming in Middleton, then bought a farm south of Lodi. They worked side by side on the farm, which they owned for over 40 years. After Buzz's passing, Eva lived out her life in Waunakee where she enjoyed many good friends and a spirited round of golf. Also of interest to her were needlepoint projects, gardening, and traveling. Proud to be Irish-German, Eva traveled to Ireland in 1973.

During World War II, Eva worked at Ray-O-Vac in Madison as a "Rosie the Riveter." She then worked at Ohio Chemical in Madison until her marriage. For many years, she farmed and worked long days preparing meals for the children of Central Colony in Madison. Her hard-working spirit was an inspiration.

Survivors include son, Gary (Laura), daughter Beth (John David), sister Mary Esser, and brother Dick Madigan. Also surviving is her loving and dedicated caregiver of almost 8 years, Otgan (Ogi) Baldan. With Ogi's excellent care, Eva was able to live at home. She was preceded in death by husband, Buzz; parents; siblings, John Madigan Sr., Millie Madigan, and Pat Madigan Richards.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church, 209 South Street, Waunakee, with Monsignor James Gunn officiating. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services .Interment will be at St. Michael's Cemetery in Dane at 2:30 p.m.
