Eva Becker, age 92, formerly of Philadelphia, died Friday, May 25, 2012 surrounded by the love of her daughter Diane, and favorite son-in-law Marc at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. She was born in Warsaw, Poland on May 1, 1920 the daughter of Reba Siano and Philip Singer. Eva was united in marriage to Max Becker on February 7, 1942 in Philadelphia. Eva was a wonderful mother, a loving caring sister, grandmother, and aunt, and a great friend to many. She always had a smile on her face. Eva volunteered at the Red Cross Blood Bank for many years, and also at Hadassah's Collectors' Corner. She was a dedicated member of Temple Beth El, and enjoyed being a greeter every Monday at Jewish Social Service's "Lechayim" at Beth Israel Center. When greeting people for the first time Eva would always say, "You know I used to be a singer." When people would ask "where did you sing?" she would reply with a smile, "no, that was my maiden name!" For the last few years Eva lived at Segoe Gardens, and was known to greet everyone after lunch, and had many friends there. Eva is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Diane Becker Krasnick and Marc Krasnick, cherished granddaughters, Jessica Rose Krasnick (Philip Chorney), Meredith Lee Krasnick, sister Sylvia Davis, and was a wonderful aunt to Amiel Singer, Nancy Davis, Bobbie (Larry) Rubin, and Jacquelyn Schnetzer. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of 42 years Max, daughter Louise Becker of Sydney Australia, and a brother Samuel Singer of New York. A private graveside service will be held in Philadelphia at Mt. Sharon Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, June 1, 2012 at TEMPLE BETH EL, 2702 Arbor Dr., Madison, WI 53711. The family suggests memorials made in Eva's name be sent to Temple Beth El's "Meredith Lee Krasnick Special Education Fund," Jewish Social Services of Madison, Agrace HospiceCare Inc., or the charity of one's choice.
