Eunice "Dood"
Reep
Apr 30, 1926 — Oct 10, 2026
Eunice “Dood” Reep née Mosley, 100, of Oconomowoc, died peacefully on October 10, 2026. She was born in Madison, WI on April 30, 1926, the youngest of five daughters of T. J. Mosley and Frances Slemons Mosley. Her young sisters had difficulty pronouncing Eunice and she was thereafter known to all as Dood.
Dood graduated from Madison West High School and earned a degree in Fashion Design and Retailing from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She lived a long, rich, and creative life, remaining fashionable even while raising four children. In 1946, Dood married Daniel W. Reep. They were married for nearly 60 years before Dan’s death. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Hollie (Herb) Schick, Sherida (Paul) Wank, Tracy (Tom) Reep-Lay, and Scott (Lisa) Reep; her three grandchildren, Kari (Mike) Thicksten, Laura (Jeff Maresh) Lay, and Alexandra Reep; and her three great-grandsons, Owen, Logan, and Nolan Thicksten.
Dood was known for her elegant hospitality and gourmet cooking, her creativity, and the generous time that she volunteered with many local organizations including Pewaukee Yacht Club, Lac LaBelle Yacht Club, The Women’s’ Club of Pewaukee, Service League, Mainstays, Girl Scouts, AFS parent, Pewaukee Library Board, Eagle River Art Council, and so many others.
In her early married life, she acted in community theater and was later a model for runway and print advertising. When her children were grown, she was a teacher for adult classes, planned senior outings at Lake Terrace Apartments/Shorehaven, had a job in banking, was a church secretary, and continued her creative endeavors. Dood was a weaver, a ceramicist, a wood carver, a knitter, a seamstress who could fashion anything from a length of fabric, and a prolific award-winning watercolorist.
At 85 years old, Dood married Robert E. Forbess, a gentleman whom she had met her freshman year at UW-Madison. They enjoyed many US and European trips. She is survived by his children: Gary (Beth) Forbess, Jim (Karen Kushner) Forbess, Russ (Linda) Forbess, and Kathy (Bill) Gallaher.
She was a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend whose life was defined by love, service, and the joy of a century well-lived.
A memorial service will be announced later. Please share your memories at www.cressfuneralservice.com
The family thanks the caregivers at Shorehaven in Oconomowoc for their outstanding care and devotion to Dood and her family. The family also wants to thank the hospice team, Agrace, for their caring and compassion during her final days.
