MADISON--Eunice A. Ellenberger, age 103, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018, at Oakwood Village. She was born on Aug. 23, 1914, in Nadeau, Mich., the daughter of the late Andrew and Hanna (Christiansen) Benson. Eunice graduated in 1932 from Sturgeon Bay High School. She was married to William Ray Ellenberger on June 17, 1950, in Chicago, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William on Sept. 9, 1981; brothers, Harold and Clarence as infants, Lloyd Benson, Kenneth Benson, Gerald Benson, and Maurice Benson; and sisters, Lucille Moore, and Evelyn Sheski.
She is survived by two sons, Ray (Mary) Ellenberger of Belleville, Wis., and Gary Ellenberger of Middleton, Wis.; two grandchildren, Erik and Brett Ellenberger of Fitchburg, Wis.; two sisters, Harriet Boruch of Schofield, Wis., and Verna Perras of Indianapolis, Ind.; and three brothers, Richard Benson of Powers, Mich., Andrew (Judy) Benson of Hubertus, Wis., and Vernon "Butch" (Mary) Benson of Holmen, Wis. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made out in memory of Eunice to Oakwood Foundation.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 14, 2018, at OAKWOOD VILLAGE--RESURRECTION CHAPEL, 6205 Mineral Point Road, Madison. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Eunice will be laid to rest at Orchard Beach Cemetery in Rice Lake, Wis.
