Eunice Leone Dore passed away on June 26, 2026, at the age of 98 at Talamore Senior Living in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. She was born on August 19, 1927, to J. Leonard and Anna (Johnson) Lake in Hoffman, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed in Bethel Lutheran Church and graduated from the Hoffman public school system.

Eunice joined the U.S. Nurse Cadet Corps and received her R.N. degree from the Swedish Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis. She served in the Veterans Administration hospital system in Chicago and then in Omaha, where she met and married Joseph M. Dore in 1961.

Eunice and Joe spent their married life in Omaha and then Bella Vista, Arkansas. She volunteered for 25+ years at the Indian Chicano Health Center in Omaha and for over 25 years at Helping Hands in Bella Vista.

Eunice was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Dore, parents Leonard and Anna Lake, brother David Lake, sister-in-law Sharon Lake, and nephew Thomas Lake. She is survived by nephew Michael (Susan) Lake with their children Nicole (husband Johannes and sons Dominic and Augustus) Hanson, Tessa Lake, Margery Lake; and cousin Barbara DeGrote.

Eunice loved her family and cherished new and old friends. She enjoyed history, traveling, the arts and music. Close family friends included neighbors Rich & Phyllis and their children Rick, Laura, Bill, Peggy and Mary Jo in Omaha, and in Bella Vista, Cameron, Devin, Vaida, Vivian and their parents Dale and Jane.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, July 20, 2026 at Talamore Senior Living, 275 N City Station Dr, Sun Prairie, WI 53590 followed by refreshments. Eunice will be brought to her final place of rest at Bethel Cemetery in Hoffman, Minnesota at a later date.
