Stoughton- Ethelyn Mary Singkofer, age 91, passed away on Friday, July 27, 2012 at Nazareth House in Stoughton. She was born in White Lake on November 6, 1920, the daughter of John and Frances (Murry) Oatman. Red graduated from Mosinee High School as Valedictorian in 1939. On June 26, 1943 she married Sheldon Singkofer in Chicago. They lived in several cities including Mauston and Janesville before moving to Stoughton in 1964. Red was an active member of St. Ann Catholic Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Stoughton. She enjoyed reading, baking and African Violets. Red made the best pies, especially apple. She was devoted to caring for her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Red is survived by her four children, Bonita (Pat) Babcock, James (JoAnn), Mark (Terri) and Marlene (Perry) Wieczorek; seven grandchildren; two step grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; step sister, Lee (Victor) Singkofer; sister-in-law, Alice (John) Pelot; nieces and nephews; and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; her step father, Joseph Eiter; her husband; her son, Jeff; two infant sons, Gregory and Sheldon; brother, John Oatman Jr.; sister, Margaret Crowley; and step sister, Dorothy Murry. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 603 4th Street, Mosinee. Burial will follow in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon at the church following the burial. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of services at church on Tuesday.
