Stoughton- Esther M. Radecke, age 94 of Stoughton, passed away at Stoughton Hospital on Sunday, November 16, 2008. She was born in the Town of Rutland on June 17, 1914, a daughter of the late Morris and Laura (Christensen) Johnson. On November 4, 1942, she was united in marriage to Stanley Radecke. Esther was a long time member of Covenant Lutheran Church. She enjoyed crafts and cooking, had a good sense of humor and loved to laugh. Esther enjoyed many coffee breaks with her many friends in Stoughton. She is survived by a brother-in-law, Casimer Radecki of Stoughton, two sisters-in-law, Elaine Radecki of Stoughton and Veronica Ahrens of California; and by many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley; a brother, Oscar Johnson, and by a sister, Catherine Hoesly. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at 11:00 am at Covenant Lutheran Church, 1525 N. Van Buren, Stoughton, with the Rev. Mark Petersen officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Stoughton. The family will greet friends at church on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Covenant Lutheran Church.
