Esther Maly, age 93 passed away peacefully on June 17, 2014 at the Waunakee Manor Nursing Home.
Esther was born in Roxbury, Wisconsin on February 13, 1921 to Peter & Emma (Emmerich) Kruchten. Esther was united in marriage to Roman Maly on May 6, 1941. They lived on a farm in Dane until 1944 and then moved to a farm in Ashton and lived there until 1969. They then moved to a farm in Antigo, Wisconsin
Esther enjoyed caring for her large family, spending time with her grandchildren; playing bingo and cards, car rides and wintering in Phoenix, Arizona.
Esther is survived by her daughters: Anita (Pat) Drager of Mazomanie and Karen Maly of Phoenix, Arizona and sons: Vern (Dottie) of Prairie Du Sac, Alan (Joyce) of Waunakee, Charles (Chris) of Mazomanie, Daniel (Becky) of Antigo, Sylvester (Pearl) of Antigo, Ron (friend Carolyn) of Antigo; daughter-in-laws Charlene Maly of Minnesota and Mary Ann Maly of Waunakee; son-in-law Peter Adler of Waunakee and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Esther is also survived by her brother Jim (Eleanor) Kruchten and sister-in-laws Ethel Ballweg and Viola Kaltenberg and brother-in-law Norm (Lorraine) Maly.
Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Roman; sons Richard and Harold; daughter Judy Adler; granddaughter Jenna Adler; grandson Ryan Maly; brother and sister-in-law Mike (Lucinda) Kruchten; sister and brother-in law Anne (John) Weaver; sister and brother-in-law Mary (Carl) Gerbing and other relatives and friends.
Esther was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Ashton for many years and was later a member of St. Wencel's Catholic Church in Neva, Wisconsin.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at the Waunakee Manor Nursing Home for their kind and compassionate care of our mother during her stay.
Funeral services for Esther will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at the Winn-Cress Funeral Home, 5785 County Road Q., Waunakee, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tues from 9:30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. A private burial will be held at Queen of Peace Cemetery in Antigo, Wisconsin.
