Emily Ann Peterson

Emily A. Peterson, age 82, passed away at Skaalen Home in Stoughton on Saturday, September 25 2010.   She was born in Madison on June 19, 1928, a daughter of Holley and Alice ( Main) Peterson.   Emily studied at Whitewater for 2 years, and worked at UW Madison as secretary to the Chancellor, working for many chancellors over her 45 years there.   Emily was a hard worker with a strong bond to her family.   She is remembered as a kind and generous sister and aunt.   She loved her cars, and enjoyed boating, waterskiing and living on the lake.   She also enjoyed going out to eat and playing the piano.   She is survived by her sister, Doris Barry; nephews, Mitchel (Judy), Bruce (Ruth) and John Barry; great nieces and nephews, Carolyn, Ben, David and Ashley; and cousins, Rodney and Harvey Smith.   Private services for Emily will take place at a later date.   Special thanks to Michael Hecht and Sara Buss at Skaalen.   Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to HospiceCare, Inc.
