Elsie Czehno

SUN PRAIRIE--Elsie Marie Czehno, age 89 passed away Monday, November 5, 2012 at Sun Prairie Care Center. Elsie was born in Delavan, Wisconsin on October 11, 1923, the daughter of the late George and Helen (Maier) Nichols. She was united in marriage to Richard Czehno on September 6, 1946 in Wauwatosa. Dick preceded her in death in 1991; they have now been reunited. Elsie was an educator for over 20 years. She taught 6th grade at the Northside Elementary School in Sun Prairie until her retirement in 1981. Elsie enjoyed traveling, reading, bridge and antique clubs, spending time with family and friends and giving good advice.

She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Kathy (Tom) Payne of Murphy, NC, Jackie (John Singer) Czehno of Lodi, WI, Joann (the late Eric) Trodahl of Acworth, GA, Nancy Czehno of Madison, and Carol (Tom) Pfeffer of Madison; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Alice Olson of Chico, CA; and sister-in-law, Dolores Nichols of Ripon.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie. Elsie's family will greet friends one hour prior to service. Refreshments will follow in the Cress community room.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Sun Prairie Public Library or a charity of your choice.
