Sun Prairie - Ella Faye (Thompson) Gailfus passed away at her home on Saturday, April 12 from complications of a series of strokes. She was 73 years old.
Faye grew up in Rolla, ND. She graduated from North Dakota State University with a music degree. She taught music in North Dakota, Iowa, finishing her teaching career in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. She taught in the Sun Prairie School District for over 30 years. Faye was also active in the music community especially with the Sun Prairie Civic Theatre, playing piano in the band pit. When she wasn't teaching, Faye spent many hours sewing, knitting, traveling and working with her college sorority, Alpha Gamma Delta, as a regional advisor. She loved her 3 grandchildren, Emmalyn, Evan and Eliot and spending time with them. She enjoyed camping and traversing the country in their motor home with her husband of 50 years, whom she knew since kindergarten.
Her celebration of life services will be held in Rolla, North Dakota with her family and friends at a future date.
She is survived by her husband Gary Gailfus; mother, Ella Lindbo; her 2 daughters, Deea Gailfus (Chris Krull), Daedre (Ken) Carlson; her sisters Mary, Patricia, and Jonelle Lindbo, brother Eric Lindbo, 3 grandchildren, and nieces. She was preceded in death by her father, Burton J. Thompson, and her second father, Olaf Lindbo
A memorial service will be held at ROLLA PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 919 E. 10th Street, Rolla, North Dakota on Saturday, May 24, 2014, from 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to: School of Performing Arts, NDSU Foundation, 1241 North University Drive, Fargo, ND 58102.
