Elinor Pederson

MADISON - Elinor B. Pederson died on Monday, June 23, 2014 at Attic Angel Place. She was born August 26, 1919 in Marion Twp., Grant County, Wisconsin to the late Leslie and Lillian (Christman) Brechler.

Elinor taught in elementary schools in Grant and Washington Counties. She also worked as a caseworker for the Grant County Welfare Department. After moving to Madison, she worked for a time for the State Veterinarian and later became the Residential Lighting Consultant for Madison Gas and Electric Company.

Her husband, Thomas E. Pederson, former Commissioner of Banking for the state, preceded her in death on January 9, 1983.

Survivors include one brother, Norman (Linda) Brechler; nephews and nieces and their families: Mark (Susan), Royce (LeAnn), Glenn, Bruce (Kathy), and Brett Brechler, Lisa (Ed) Houghtaling, Sharon Campbell, and Laurie Moser. She is further survived by extended relatives and friends, including her close friend, Bernie, who greatly enriched her life for the last several years.

Elinor was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother and sister-in-law, Robert (Lorraine) Brechler.

A service will be held at MIDVALE COMMUNITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 4329 Tokay Boulevard., Madison, on Friday, June 27, 2014, at 12 Noon with Rev. Larry Pinnow officiating. A private visitation and entombment will be held prior to the service. A reception will follow the service at church.
